Hi Linda & Ole
I just wanted to tell you that we so enjoyed our stay at Aquavit. I said to Paul, if there was one thing that I would have liked to have brought back, it was that bathroom from our room at Aquavit. I love the feeling of those pebbles on my feet. And maybe a warthog; they’re so cute!
Anyway, back to life in London. I love this time of year. Crunchy leaves in the park. Cold, sunny days with jumpers and scarves. Lunching in the west end at weekends with friends. Theatre. Films. Best of all: reading The New Yorker on Sunday morning with a pot of coffee, in between writing letters and reviews, two of my passions. Here’s what I wrote yesterday, and is pending to go up on Trip Advisor:
A first class experience with a warm, personal touch
Aquavit is unique. This is by far the most welcoming, luxuriously personal experience I have ever had at a B&B. On arrival, you are welcomed by Ole and Linda, the owners, and their two golden retrievers. You step into their home, which is filled with every kind of fine art you can imagine, but with no sense of clutter. Your day will start with a delicious breakfast: eggs any way you like, fresh croissant, pressed coffee and whatever cakes or special treats have been cooked up the night before. If you want to go to the beach, you will be offered everything you need for the day: parasol, towels, folding chairs and advice on which beach suits your mood. Worried about where to go for dinner? Relax. Linda and Ole will offer you their insider knowledge about the best restaurants around Plettenberg Bay; they know them all, and they know them well. If you would like, they will reserve your table and book you a private car and driver. They don’t charge anything for this; it is just part of their normal service. When you are done for the day and you arrive back home, you will sink into a king size bed and drift peacefully to sleep. The magic of this place is down to the way that Ole and Linda run the show. They offer a highly personalised experience, whilst still leaving you completely free to come and go as you wish. Come to Aquavit, check in, and stay for the rest of your days. Or until the money runs out.
Best wishes from Paul & I,
Dear Linda & Ole|
What a wonderful stay we had at your home and guest house at the beginning of April this yr.it had been highly recommended by my cousin Karen Semmence who stayed there on her trip to SA two years ago, and it really was the best recommendation we had.i have told people I don't think I was ever in a home with so many beautiful tasteful things where everything seemed to have the perfect spot.lots of people fill their home with "stuff" but that is not what pulls it all together.as an artist (not practicing but two years in art college in my late teens ) I have an eye for paintings & beautiful objects and just got such enjoyment from the wonderful pieces displayed about your home.
Ole's father really has a talent...! We enjoyed every second and we were only sorry we didn't have longer as we couldn't have known how much we'd like it. The breakfasts were amazing ....& the the view! You are truly blessed to wake up to that every day In our new home in Ireland we also have a view of the sea and it is at once exhilarating and calming.we love it... Wishing you some rest & relaxation now the high season has ended and continued success in your guest house.we would love to return some day Kind regards from Ireland

Dear Linda and Ole|
I thought I would send this letter from the Burri's on to you. Thank you very much, once again, for looking after our clients so well.
Colleen - LIVING AFRICAN TOURS
Just back from South Africa with a lot of memoirs we would like to say thank you for your effort you have done for us.
Never we had any problems at all. The rental car has mastered over 5000 km without any problems. We spent a realy good time and we have seen a lot of. The countryside is so beautiful and also the people we met were all so friendly. We never will forget the days in Addo and Kruger Park where we have seen the big five and more.
All the accomodations which you selected were good, especially Aquavit Guesthouse, who is one of the best b&b we ever have seen. Linda and Ole are so kind and her house is so beautiful. The breakfast, which we got on the terrasse was so delicious as in a five star hotel.
Once we will come back to South Africa.

Dear all, Linda, Ole and all staff,
I just would like to spend few words to say thank you and let you know how special you are for your guests.
When our clients arrive at Aquavit, they have already been in other different hotels and lodges but between all, they prefer to describe the good feelings they received from you and they always tell us how fantastic was to stay at Aquavit, not only for your wonderful guest house but also for your warmth and kindness.
You are super! :-)
Thank you at all of you
Hi Linda and Ole,
Thanks for everything. We really enjoyed our stay with you. Ole, thanks for the map book. It proved very helpful in several places. You were right. We could have stayed with you another night and just visited Knysna for the day. Our Robberg hike after we left you was great and we followed your suggestion up to the N2. We loved R62 with all the flowers in bloom. We went to Hermanus on the way to Cape Town after the Winelands but only saw the backs of whales. The remainder of our trip was wonderful. It is quite a country. We met Tracy (walked over to Go2Africa from our guest house) and told her to skip Knysna and leave people with you longer. Did a report on Aquavit on Trip Advisor last week. If any of our friends visit SA and Plettenberg Bay is on their itinerary, we will definitely recommend Aquavit.
